The east side of the island gets big waves from the Atlantic, so places like Bathsheba Beach are pretty, but only popular with surfers.

Most of the population resides on the west side of the island, where the waves are gentler. Carlisle Bay, specifically the beach south of Bridgetown between the Hilton and the Radisson, is a great beach.

At Agrofest, their equivalent to a state fair:


"Pudding and souse" is what they call this dish of sweet potatoes and pork (usually pig ears). It's good.

When you leave the island, get to the airport early and give yourself time to tour the Concorde:
