I can say I’ve never changed the oil in them, ha
I beat the shite out of mine as far as taking care of abuse, bayousides, pond banks, overgrown shite. I’ve never had good luck with blowers. Trimmers I probably get 10-15 years. I’ve changed multiple carbs, shite, I have one that ran without a muffler and exhaust manifold for years because it fell and cracked off. But as they age they leak everywhere and make a mess.
All that being said, I now keep my house and neighborhood lot trim and tidy (I’ve only recently moved to a neighborhood with a nice yard) and would use whatever working gas stuff left to deal with my pond and back acres. That’s why I’m fine with the battery powered stuff to keep babied in my garage.
