LL bean also had a lifetime warranty at that price in that day.
Sadly they got rid of it. Although I haven’t had to use it on any of their products. Usually would catch a button on something and can see that back on myself.

Interesting at $500 you’d think it would have a warranty for lifetime free waxing.

But as others have pointed out. Their marketing is about price point. If it was $100. With same quality. Would people be raving over it. Unlikely. People don’t rave over LL bean. Or Eddie Bauer. Yet both have great outdoor gear that will last decades.

Bean is still a good company with good people, but almost everything they sell is unfortunetly made in Asia. They just put their label on it.

I would like to point out quality of most clothes have dropped. Most old clothes made in 50-70 last a lot longer than items made today. Even by same company.

A lot of warranties have disappeared.

And yet. People pay more now.
because now you can take a picture wearing it and let strangers know what you spend your money on. And get more joy out of what other people know we own. Than the joy we just get actually owning it.
