It’s just an accounting liability and they never work out in the consumers favor at anything other than the individual here and there.

A typical warranty is basically half commission to the stealership for originating it, 25% going to warranty co opex and 25% into the actual reserve account. Once you figure out why they only need 25% reserves you’ll figure out why they’re such a bad deal.

It’s worked out for me several times with several different vehicles and is currently working out for me now.


Just like travel insurance

We got stuck in Steamboat for 3 extra days and our travel insurance not only covered me and my family but also the couple we were traveling with

this is why if you want one, only buy a manufacturers warranty from a dealership that sells them online after the fact like flood ford.
