A lot of people in this thread don’t seem to understand just how much food 7-9k calories really is. Nobody is doubting that they worked hard or needed lots of fuel, or that they didn’t eat a carb heavy diet. To add a little perspective a Big Mac is roughly considered pretty unhealthy and it’s around 560 calories. You’re telling me the average person in medieval Europe is eating the equivalent of 16 Big Macs per day?! I’m sorry but that’s hard to believe. When I was pouring concrete for a summer job in high school and going to summer works outs for football I was eating around 5-6k calories per day I’d guess. And that was me eating about every chance I got. There comes a point to where if you are actually working that hard you don’t have enough time in the day to eat that much.
