re: How can we realistically share a country with people who think lawfare is acceptable?

The goal is to get the upper hand and never turn it loose. It is to have one party rule in this country. There is no third choice in the US as there is in parliamentary countries. So there is no ability for a coalition of not necessarily like minded individuals. I get the feeling the whole thing is flying apart.
