Actually Coach Bertman knew the value of a satisfied fan base and made it a priority to make sure the concessions didn't suck and that the bathrooms were clean.
He's been asked several times about Alex Box upgrades and always has the same answer: as a coach he's mainly focused on player development, performance, and recruiting-related upgrades. As far as fan experience, he trusts LSU administration to handle that part.
That's a cop-out and very short sighted, especially as often as Jay has acknowledged how much of an advantage this fan base gives him and this team. It's obvious based on recent history that they can't be trusted. As an extremely influential coach, he could have a huge impact on how much attention LSU administration focuses on fan experience.
Why would LSU willfully be bad at anything they do? There is no reason to not have top tier fan amenities for one of the best fan bases in the country and show visiting fans how it should be done at the same time. As many have said, it's not hard. This is Louisiana. It's not like they have to invent recipes for some of the best food in the country from scratch.

Johnson knows what it takes to win and it’s not fan amenities. I believe he wants an indoor infield, and that’s what he’s going to politic for.
