The Navy. It’s relatively untouched by the enemy, great benefits and I’d be on 100% disability due to headaches and needing contacts in addition to my Navy retirement by now. I talk to way too many former military folks who are on total disability due to common stuff everyone has and they are making $70k a year just sitting back collecting disability and retirement at age 40. Ridiculous but it makes me jealous

This is RAMPANT. Makes me think some people go into it with the express intention of getting disability. Look around at all the "Disabled Veteran" car tags in Alabama. They are everywhere.

I work with someone who is doing very well, making over 6 figures...is also "disabled" for some bullshite reason and is getting 40k or so per year, for life.
