re: Deputy misinterprets the sound of an acorn striking the patrol vehicle as a gunshot

Had they riddled the arrestee with bullets and killed him in the pre-camera days, they’d be out looking for the dead guys “partner” who fired the acorn-shot. Shooter cop would probably get an award for heroism under fire.
