The musical is fantastic. I’ve seen it 3 times. The teaser looks.. okay. But I’m withholding judgement because I’ve heard a few leaked videos of the music and it sounds PHENOMENAL.

Ariana Grande is a fine enough actor to play Glinda and she has PIPES for days. I know nothing about Cynthia Erivo but after a 30 minute YouTube binge, she can also sing with the best of them and should be a good Elphaba. Idina 20 years ago would’ve been ideal but we can’t always have nice things.

The editing of this teaser was questionable but I still think this has a good chance of living up to the hype.

My biggest concern is maybe the CGI and it being overused.

Would love to see it be successful. I wish some of the bigger musicals would go the Hamilton route and release some of their early tapings on Broadway with the original cast. Idina and Kristen were so good in these parts.

I wonder if part of it is they only finished filming about a couple weeks ago (were delayed by the strike) and felt like they had to force something for the Super Bowl.
