First time I played it I barely made it to the first town out of boredom. Picked it up again about a year later and slogged through the beginning again, but kept at it. About two days later I was hooked and didn't put it down until I completed everything. Great game.

I played RDR2 before RDR and had trouble getting through the first mission. Between the controls learning curve and being required to slowly trudge through the landscape, I also almost gave up. In the end I sunk hundreds of hours into RDR2 and loved it.
