Bird strike seems more likely I guess, but doesn’t it seem like they would have mentioned that?

Also for pilots…it seemed like they declared an emergency by just saying they had an emergency, I’m curious why they didn’t say “mayday”?

I'd be shocked if you could count on more the one hand the amount of times pilots have actually used the word mayday during an emergency.
