I would agree with you if I cherry picked numbers, but I took a 30 game sample size from the last two months. Sure, there could be other factors that impact that, but in the whole, it becomes clear that Jose is an integral part of the rotation.

Jose has 3 years and I think nearly 3000 minutes of a sample size of winning his minutes.

He's been in the top 3 in Net rating on the team in each of his 3 seasons.

That's not really a coincidence.

The only caveat to that is he rarely plays high leverage minutes, and that's ok. He's a difference maker, whether he's closing games or not. He needs to be in the rotation IMO.

Jose is also the closest thing we have to a true PG off the bench. For that reason, I think he comfortably has 15 minutes a game in the rotation.

And come playoffs when rotations shrink, I think Dyson and Hawkins will lose more minutes than Jose when a premium is placed on ball handling and shooting.

Everytime I see a defender close out on Dyson on the perimeter I just think “what happens to our offense and what does Dyson do when that close out stops in the playoffs.”

We stay healthy, some fun playoff basketball ahead
