Because a ton of people have no idea what they're doing. You'd be surprised how many people I've talked to over the years who thought their hurricane deductible was a percentage of whatever their claim amount was. Or that thought their homeowners insurance would cover their ATV or boat.

Or say they have “full coverage” when they have state minimum liability limits with a ton of liquid assets exposed to unnecessary risk.

My mother in law is paying $200/month for car insurance and I shopped around for her and found $75/month. She likes her agent and is afraid the app will make it harder during a claim so she declined to switch
