It’s not as bad as it seems. This isn’t a result of AI. Nor a shite economy.
It’s simply what tech does. They bloat employment numbers to drive stock value, then eliminate super specialized jobs.
They will literally hire dozens of tech positions whose sole job is to design order buttons for their websites. Or dozens of positions just to design the look and feel of menu bars.
It’s all smoke and mirrors to drive up value, because in “tech” the more employees you have means “the company must be worth a lot since they have so many employees”.
Nothing to see here.
