I hit what I assume to be a dog one night heading to church in Brusly. Never even saw it but something hit my car and I heard a bark/yelp. I stopped and got out and looked around but didn’t see anything, so I assume I just clipped him. I felt bad about that for a long time.
I did run over a cat one day though. Was driving on my street and it darted out as I passed and ran under my car. I wasn’t even going very fast but I let off the gas and hit the brakes a little (didn’t want to slam them on), but was too late. I saw it in my mirror that it was thrashing and convulsing in the road so I got out to check on it and potentially take it to a vet. But when I walked up to it I noticed its head was completely flattened, and the thrashing was its death throes. I felt like shite for months after that one.
