I think he’s the Thomas Friedman of the military political sphere, he gets paid to tell people what they want to hear. And if everyone is in it for the money, and what he says helps justify their spending, and what they’re spending it on, then it doesn’t matter if he’s right or wrong. He actually has a strong incentive to avoid rocking the boat.
