Funny this thread popped up.

I actually just bought a truck completely online and picked it up from the dealer yesterday. It was the most enjoyable car purchase I’ve ever completed.

I was in the dealership for all of five minutes while they got the temp tag and registration. Got a fair price and saved lots of time not playing dealership games.

GMAC and Ford credit aren't doing this? My buddy runs an Audi store and i'm pretty sure he told me VAG did this for them.

They just white label underwriting from big banks. Floor plans are just warehouse deals with someone like Carlyle or JPM and all the other loans that are non-revolving are warehoused then securitized. They skim some fees and get some servicer income but the real goal is to get that shite off their balance sheet as quickly as possible to recognize the revenue asap.

The good ones are worth what they are paid. Thats probably 1 out of 10 though.

I actually have a really great realtor. He’s a retired architect and I really like him. I’d be more than happy to pay him what he gets paid. I have a bigger issues with the brokers and worthless listing agent that add zero value.

Its usually the ones who jump in when it’s hot and think their looks and charm will make them successful. Obviously plenty simps keep them busy.

All of those online companies are filing for bankruptcy. See vroom and carvana

Some of that was due to the used car market going bonkers due to inventory issues and cheap money allowing them to grow unchecked, now it is starting to flip and they have overpriced cars on their lot they cannot sell without eating a loss. Also financially it makes no sense for a consumer to buy a 2 year old used car at 18% interest when you can go to a dealer for a new vehicle that maybe a little more but you can finance in the single digits.
