I fear that term limits will simply permit donors to obtain control of legislation by simply offering jobs to term limited Congress members. It will unintentionally increase the loyalty of elected officials to donors and decrease their accountability to voters. It will also create a second unaccountable branch of government in the form of congressional staffers - who can’t be unelected or term limited and will never go away.

You’ll end up with more figureheads and party loyalists than before.

The only members of the federal government who should be subject to term limits are in the executive branch. Instead these assholes can’t be fired and we have no way to vote them out.

Term limits sound great - but in practice- I think they are bad for public policy and would remove accountability from the voters.
