heart of my old sales territory

Used to call on a customer in that area as well. When I first moved to the Houston area. I'm used to NOLA and Baton Rouge when it comes to bad areas. Greenspoint near the interstate/beltway at least isn't all that terrible looking. It's not great, but it's not quite as ghetto looking as North Baton Rouge or NOLA East. I'd grab lunch at a subway or something and eat inside and not think anything of it. I knew it was far from a place you'd want to live, but didn't know just how dangerous it could be. Until that shooting happened then was filled in on just how bad it gets. From that point on, I didn't venture out past my customer's building. Luckily they all moved from that area.

a kid got shot over there a couple of years ago. I think from a stray. A few days later i am at long time customers location. I walk out of their office to see black guys running in every direction. Jumping in the bayou, jumping the fence. It was like someone did a huge magic trick and the whole hood saw it.

As I drove off I saw cops had blocked off every exit to one of the massive apartment complexes and they were kicking down doors. Figured it was a response to that shooting but who knows, could just be another day in gunpoint
