Anyone listening to them? Started showing up on all the "indie" music sites in the run=up to their new album. It's kind of doing for Screamo what Deafheaven did for black metal. I wouldn't exactly call it "elevating" it (as I don't want to insult screamo fans), but it's definitely more interesting to me musically than a lot of screamo. Maybe I just really like the "blackgaze" genre, which I guess all of this style is being lumped under.

I gave it a listen, but it was a little too metal for my tastes.

The vocals are pretty hard to get past, even if you’re into metal. It’s usually what turns me off from screamo and a lot of hardcore. For some reason, these don’t bother me as much. But it definitely does the whole… ugly/angry into beautiful and melodic transitions which is what I find appealing in music a lot of times.
