No pets, no kids.

Kids - Obviously the biggest responsibility, which most people fail at. They are time and money sucks with no appreciation for the people who raise them. They grow in to adult idiots, for the most part.

Dogs - Can't go on a two week vacation and just leave them to their own devices. They need walks, will eat all of the food immediately, have "separation issues"

Cats - Can leave them for a vacation and never worry. However, you will, at some point step in their vomit and have to clean a box, if you don't have an outside mouser.
