I recently visited a functional medicine practitioner and she had me do an obnoxious amount of blood work. It had to total more than a pint. But, she left the methylation test off of the list. I asked why and she stated that that test isn't a first step test. First, we need to see what I'm deficient in, and if those tests point to a methylation issue, then she will order it. Turns out I don't have a methylation issue based on the results of my other tests.
She's very aware of Huberman, Peter Attia, etc.. and some of the things she was explaining to me were things I've heard them explain. It was interesting to see her put into practice all the words you hear on a podcast, and see how they work together. I highly recommend finding a functional medicine or holistic health practitioner in your area and going through the whole process.
