I think it’s case by case. My youngest is 9. (Yeah I’m in my mid 50s, so what.).

He goes to public because it’s a neighborhood school and we know everyone there. Fantastic people that are like minded and push academic achievement with No woke.

The middle school is much larger and not so sure about. Our oldest went there and while the teachers are like minded, there was a much larger cross section of kids, some sketchy.

The high school is a mile away and fantastic. I go to church with a lot of the teachers. My kid is in 11th grade and the FCA is incredible. About 90-100 kids attend once a week.

It’s a reason we haven’t moved closer to the water, the schools. If we lived in another school district, they would probably be in private.

One thing to keep in mind. This is the Florida panhandle. The private schools is where parents send their kids when they get kicked out, or have big problems in public.
The biggest druggy and drinking high school locally is private Catholic.

Louisiana is different. Private schools are the norm, or at least a lot more common.
