It doesn't matter if I trust him.

Our best chance to maximize the winning of this franchise is Zion at the #1. Make Zion the #1 and let the chips fall where they may. If it fails, you at least did the right thing IMO to try and get the most out of this team that we can.

If this is how they truly feel, they should have traded him in the offseason. If you keep him on the team, and he's your best player, then use your best player as your best player.
