So don't take a promotion, raise, or try and elevate your professional status, irrespective of how hard you work or how much you've sacrificed.

To truly grow as an individual, you must incessantly yield such positions and opportunities to minorities. Only then will you start to grow and improve as a person.

My white son is in medical school and is so fricked. No matter how hard he works or what he accomplishes, it will be almost impossible for him to get a residency in a super competitive specialty at a top program.

Just be glad he got accepted in this day and age as a white male. But yes, attaining a higher end residency program will be more difficult for him since Step 1 is now being reduced to a simple P/F system. Gives residency programs much more freedom to select candidates based on gender and race without having to worry about those pesky USMLE scores.

You only need to look at Stanford’s 2023 general surgery residents to see exactly how things are going at ALL of the top tier schools. It’s laughable and nowhere near representative of the population. And now there is serious talk that Step 2 will also be changed to pass/fail in the next year or so. I guess too many DEI candidates are doing poorly on it.
