Have had my 788 in 308 since the early 80s. still my go to/ Use core lokt, is a tack driver

The stock was cheap hardwood and the magazine was cheap sheet metal and stuck out the bottom of the stock, but I've never known anyone who owned a 788 that didn't like it and who sold it. They were good guns.
