Yeah I can see that. It's surprising one of the major EV players like Rivian or Tesla hasn't attempted to enter the bus market. If they made one I would be more likely to support things like this.

If Tesla and Rivian can only get a few hundred miles from a charge on a compact car there’s no way they’d invest into this and that’s why they haven’t. The subsidies would be in the billions just for R&D for mass scale and production. Then it will cost the purchaser more than these 31 buses are valued at. Which in turn raises your taxes when we have perfectly fine buses currently.

They make toys, status symbols. There will never be a successful EV workhorse.

When government picks winners they always pick losers.
