The end goal is obviously to become the Lord of the Dance.

Honest answer, at least for my family, the end goal is the thing itself. My nine year old dances at some studio or other here in Mandeville. I have no idea if it's "competitive" or not, or what the difference is, but she goes because she has fun there and likes to dance. The day she is bored with it and wants to try something new, well, I guess that's when she stops dancing. She does swim team and chorus as well because she enjoys them, and from my perspective as her dad, that's the end goal.
