At this point, it isn't about electing v appointing. It needs to be about getting smart and fair judges.
If you aren't a lawyer, you probably don't realize this but what I'm going to say is 100% true.
There is a saying that As make good judges, Bs make good professors and Cs make money. In Louisiana, this couldn't be further from the truth. It's As make good professors, Bs make good money, Cs make absurd money. Then who is left to run for judge??? Ds. People who weren't hired by big firms. People who aren't good enough lawyers to be sought after. People who aren't smart enough to run an efficient solo practice. Every election is a who's who of morons and failed attorneys.
It's a true those who can't do, judge kinda deal.
