what do you deem an overpay?
Hawkins, 24 lottery protected 1st, and the worst of the Lakers/Pels 25 1st?
I would say that's an overpay, but it's probably what it takes.
I don't think that's an overpay at all for a young, already proven center. Maybe 1 out 10 centers taken in the first round pan out. Both Kessler and Williams have panned out spectacularly and have room to improve. I think there is no chance Ainge would take that offer, and I'm skeptical that Charlotte would.

I don’t think either team wants picks from us.
They’d probably be more interested in us getting a better player for them using Hawkins and the two firsts.
And we can send 24 protected 1st with Kira to the Nets for Sharpe, and get back their 2nd this year and 2 more future 2nds.
And a straight up Kira for Sharpe salary wise puts us around $500k under the tax. Add EJ to it and sign Matt Ryan.
