I hyperextended my knee while running full speed during intramural softball and had this injury. My femur came down and caused a depression fracture of my tibia. Luckily it was on a non weight bearing part of my knee and did not need surgery. Rest and crutches for 6 weeks and was good to go. It’s all about where the fracture is on the tibia and if it’s weight bearing or not.
