Someone in my family had to go away for 4-5 months to drug treatment that also had mental health services. It did, in fact cure them and they are once again a productive member of society. The cost, even with good private insurance, was over $30,000. Small price to pay if you have it, to get the rest of your life back when you are a young adult. They were lucky a family member had it. If not, they might be homeless.

I heard Dr Drew (from Love Line) say this same thing. If takes many months of in patient rehab to successfully treat some of addition.
