That's 100% false.
There are many reasons a dealer will sell a new vehicle at a loss.
The most common being flooring.
When the manufacturer's free flooring dries up, they now have to pay interest on that vehicle.
Pre dumbass rate increase that rate was in the 7s. I would imagine it is significantky higher now.
If a dealer starts hemorrhaging money through flooring, they are doomed. They'd rather lose a few thousand than lose quite a bit more over months as it sit there growing stale.
