So me and 7 friends are going to ATL for the game and we were wondering what kind of New Year's activities will be going on after the game there downtown itself. Also, a couple of my friends are under 21, so does anyone know what the bars are like as far as being underage and everything else? Thanks

I bumped my thread on Atlanta. Top of the page.

EDIT - And you cant get into bars in Atlanta unless you're 21 (not counting places like ESPN the Zone or Fox Sports Grill which are also restaurants).

I suggest "The Hole in the wall"... We were in Atl last year for a bach party/ SECCG and went there every night before we went out, that place got packed as the night went on.. They even openned an hour early for us 2 nights.. The head bouncer is from NOLA, let them know yall are Tiger fans..

here is their myspace page.

Moondogs, Peachtree Tavern and Hole in the Wall are all literally right next to each other. I hop from one to the other often. If you have a fake I haven't ever seen anyone get caught. But they won't let you in if you're under 21 (and have an ID that shows under 21, which was my point). I have seen quite a few folks get caught using someone elses ID though, they typically look at your picture although if one bar doesn't most of the time it's Moondogs.

FYI - Parking around there is $5 for Valet and $10 on your own...pretty easy choice

It ain't New Orleans, I can tell you that. This city wouldn't know a good time if it fell out of the sky.

I suggest the famous Clermont lounge, although you might get knifed if you try to get in with a fake. That place rocks though. If you want to find girls, there is a bar called Loca Luna that is always stocked, and if you get there at the right time, there is no age restriction.

I know there will be a lot of muggings. Downtown Atlanta is not somewhere I would want to be.

Atlanta is pretty safe all around. Just stay out of obviously shady places at night.

Yeah yall should be fine there. I just now remembered that there were off duty cops at the door but they weren't carding the bouncers were and i saw people get turned down by the bouncers and the cops didn't care....so don't be scared away if they happen to be near the door

one word of advice.. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT walk down the street with a drink in your hand.

After last years SEC championship after the West Virgina loss, I made it a half a block from my hotel walking to the bar when a cop pulled up, and threatened to throw me in jail.

I can still hear him.

Yall will be fine going to Peachtree and Moondogs. These places are very easy to get in to. They do however fill up with a bunch of Buckhead toolbags.
