The 59-year-old Denbrock is believed to have legitimate interest in a possible return to Notre Dame, industry sources told The Athletic.

That sentence would not inspire confidence if I were a Notre Dame fan.

I can also sense Denbrock, after producing one of the most explosive offenses in college football, wanting to get recognized monetarily in a big way.

I like Denbrock, but he didn't really run anything special. Daniels' and LSU's talent in general was just ridiculous. Several WRs running open on just about every play, and when they were covered, or the line broke down, Daniels would just scramble for 30+ yards. Diggs, when healthy, was running for 100+ yards a game.

Again, don't get me wrong. Everybody came together to make this offense elite, including Denbrock, but if Sloan has been learning the past 2 years, he could run the same offense. It's not hard. The concepts aren't hard. We have one of the most basic rushing schemes in college ball. Daniels and the WRs were eating people up on simple fade routes.

LSU can't lose Sloan in the next two years. We need Underwood in the fold
