There's nothing white trash about locking down the border and pushing back against people who insult Americans in this country in favor of illegal immigrants.
Jesus, pal. Where the frick do you live?
I haven’t lived in Texas for a few years now, but am there regularly to see family. The VAST majority of Texans I know are able to differentiate between the border problem and the people. There is some grumbling sometimes, but prevailing sentiment I recall is that they add a lot more than they subtract, and they are overwhelmingly glad to be here and don’t insult the place.
Could it have changed since I left, and am I just not noticing it when I am there? Possibly, but I doubt it.
You want to paint the entire population but the actions of some activist-spurred minority. My guess is that you spend very little time around the people you admit that that you hate.
Unfortunately, bigots like you are what the left gets to point to when they insist all Republican voters are racist.

I can make an economic argument: "At the start of 2023, the net cost of illegal immigration for the United States – at the federal, state, and local levels – was at least $150.7 billion." (The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers | 2023 Cost Study)
I can make the crime argument: "Increased Illegal Immigration Brings Increased Crime: Almost 2/3 of Federal Arrests Involve Noncitizens" (Heritage Foundation, 2023)
I can make an assimilation argument: It's a problem of volume. When you have a large wave of immigrants with a distinct culture, they'll feel less social pressure to assimilate if they need only ever rely on fellow immigrants for social needs. The larger and more distinct the immigrant group, the less likely they are to assimilate. This isn't a new problem in America; we've seen this before with other waves of immigrants (e.g. Italians, Germans, Irish). The difference then was that those waves ended.
But I don't think I need to make any of those arguments to justify my stance on zero tolerance. American citizens don't need a list of reasons for why they have the right to decide who enters this country. Americans don't have the right to enter into Canada and demand to be accommodated. The same is true here. How many states need to turn blue before people realize the problem we're facing?
