They absolutely did. It can be analyzed from countless angles, but the fact is, according to the committee, they were left out because their QB got hurt. They have explained that rule before and used it in the reverse, if you are missing personnel and lose, you may get the benefit of the doubt.
Nothing about this decision is good for college football. If you’re star QB gets hurt, you can now justify sitting out yourself because you are at the mercy of a very biased and flawed system. NIL and 12 teams will make it less fair IMO. Same teams every year.
