The only thing expansion guarantees is that the same flawed logic used today will be done so on a larger scale.

How anyone think that can equate to improvement is mind boggling.

It's not the same thing at all. In the new format, there is objectivity to the selection. Win a power 5 conference and you're in, no if's ands' or but's.

So already in the new system, you have teams being rewarded for winning a power conference. Then you can argue about the at large bids but let's be honest, there won't be 12 undefeated teams. If you're on the lower end of the 12, there will be objective reasons you aren't in.

Take LSU for example, they sit at #13. If LSU complains about not being in, you can easily point to the Ole Miss game as the reason they missed it. Don't lose a 3rd game and give up 55 pts to OM and you'd be in.

The new format essentially guarantees that a power 5 conference champion, especially an undefeated one, will have the opportunity to compete for a title. There won't be any undefeated P5CC told to sit at home because of "the eye test."

And furthermore, it gives us more big time ranked matchups in meaningful football in December. What's not to like?

Correct, but when Bama is in this same situation, they will get in.
