My dad thought about retiring at 62 but he wanted to make it to 65 for a little extra each month. In the end, it benefited my mom who is drawing his retirement savings but he never got to enjoy any of it. His retirement was 18 months of fighting cancer.

Sorry you lost your dad so early, I’m blessed to have mine still at my age. I try never to take that for granted now but wish I would’ve spent more time with him when I was younger
