When I was in college over 20 years ago, women knew that if you liked a guy and wanted a relationship with him, you had to make him wait a while before becoming intimate. Of course he will have sex with you if you allow it, but will he stick around? So to find out if he was serious, we would make him put in some effort and wait a while.
