Kafka since you seem to like old photos, you need to look at what some people did in the 1800's and early 20th century in the US. Family members would take pictures with the corpse. If you look at the pictures you will have a hard time telling which family member was actually dead. Most of the pics were taken after the family member died a couple of hours before the pic was taken. They kept the deceased person's eye lids open by sewing them with thread. It was fascinating trying to find the deceased person in a family group picture. On some of the pics the deceased member of the family looked better than the members who were alive. Back in those days the grief stricken family members would bathe and dress the dead and display them for the public to view and to take pictures with. I don't think that I could sleep with dead people in the house. I know a woman that had an awful experience with a dead stranger. I told her that I would never take something off of a dead body.
