Word of advice to all you lawbreakers. If you ever come to the UAE and have a rental, you best know there are cameras everywhere. Go 1 km/hr over the speed limit and you will get a ticket. Speeding and distracted driving are given out like jolly ranchers. If the cameras pick you up with your phone in hand will driving you are getting a ticket (and they will almost always pick it up). If the traffic light starts blinking green you best stop before it reaches yellow.

If you manage to get any tickets while here (they all come from cameras) you won’t be allowed to leave the country without paying.

1. No fricking way I ever go to the UAE.

Muslim lending laws are insane and a number of people who lost their jobs suddenly caught an immediate plane out of there because they would otherwise be jailed for nonpayment.

2. I don’t mind paying it in areas where it is enforceable and I did it.

It isn’t enforceable in BR and the gall of these assholes to bluster people into paying what they can’t force them to pisses me off.

If BR et all want to make this legit, change the fricking laws to make it enforceable. But they won’t do that because they will get lynched by their own constituents.

Instead, they outsource this shite to an out of state company and tel them to get what they can.
