the fact that there's no official appeals process tells you all you need to know. if someone makes a $30k mistake, lets not call it a mistake, lets give him the benefit of the doubt, provides an opinion that is 20% different between another professional's opinion and doesn't have to defend himself is absurd. think about that. $30k. that's maybe the down payment on someone's next house that now they're not going to get or get credit for. or money they're trying to take out to use for something. and yall are just like "nah, it ain't worth that, i don't care about your proof, suck a dick"
