Right. But "the germans bombed pearl harbor" is a joke. Its not meant to be taken as a serious statement.

The first comment that was replied to was in reference to the use of propoganda to bring the US into the war (like the Lusitania incident).

The 2nd world war was an easy sell. People saw Hitler as a great evil that needed to be stopped. But it wasnt so black and white the first time around. I believe most Americans had little interest in a european war.
