That map is inaccurate. Benjamin never conquored Jerusalem. That's just one issue.

Benjamin: The smallest of the tribes. The first king, Saul, was of the tribe of Benjamin and was head and shoulders taller in stature than the other men around him.

When Saul was king and the Philistine champion, Goliath, threatened and taunted the armies of Israel, a much younger (and smaller) David of the tribe of Judah, came forward and killed Goliath with a sling and a stone. The interesting thing about this is that it was the tribe of Benjamin that was well-known for using the sling as a weapon. So, David killed Goliath with the very weapon that Saul should have been proficient with.

Another note about the men of the tribe of Benjamin - they were noted for being predominantly left-handed.

The area of Jerusalem, however, was not captured by Israel until David was king after Saul. Israel had taken root in the Promised Land under Joshua, but throughout the years of the judges the land was not entirely conquered and taken away from the Canaanites, Amalekites, Amorites, and others. Saul was deposed from his throne because he did not utterly destroy and kill every man, woman, child, and living beast of the Amalekites.

Saul's successor, David, accomplished the complete conquest of the land shown on the map that you question.
