I don't know why but in my head batteries are still like $80, and I replace them so infrequently I guess I forget how expensive they are now.
They're a pain in the arse to change out now too. Gone are the days of loosening a velcro strap and pulling off two terminals to change them out. Mine crapped out at a condo in Gulf Shores back in the summer. Had to catch a taxi to Auto Zone, drop 300 bones on a new batter, and undo about 9 different bolts and unhook about 6 different cables to swap my battery out in the middle of the parking lot at the condo complex.
