Definitely seemed to me like that’s what they were going for. And I thought it was done fairly well. Having a literal closeup shot of both pilot’s eyes would’ve really sent the message home but also could’ve come across as cliche and unrealistically corny.

For those of you who have read more about this subject, was the American bombing strategy looked back on as a strategic failure?

It just seems the amount of losses they sustained wasn't a viable long term startegy. From making the planes to training the pilots, I don't see how they kept up.
