Oh and if the daycare needs to close, say for a weather day or other issue, their teachers and staff don’t get paid. And your tuition isn’t prorated.
It’s a fricking racket. I’m sure there are plenty of fees, insurance costs, and other governmental red tape to pay for. But when I think about my daughter’s single 4K class having 13 kids, that’s ~$150k/year of tuition income just for that one class. There are two classes per preschool “grade,” and it’s 3K-5K. At a million dollars a year in revenue, I’m curious where a lot of that money goes. Not to mention the fundraisers, supplies fees, and registration fees.
It’s in a church by the way. So it’s not like they have to pay extra rent.
