Bourbon lol
But really.......we went to visit the trail late September and stayed a week and spent a day in Louisville and a few days in Lexington.
A good place we found to eat if you like BBQ was a place called City Barbecue, really good quality food.
If you have time, Makers Mark has a really nice facility and awesome tours and tastings. Wilderness Trail Distillery was also an awesome tour and tasting (heavy pours and a few extra pours when we visited)
In Louisville there were several distilleries on Whiskey Row right by Riverside. Old Forester and Rabbit Hole are both good ones. Good place to eat that was neat was on a little street off the Row walking over to the River called Troll Pub under the Bridge it was an affordable sports bar.
Hope you enjoy!!
